Matcha Red Bean Jelly Gateaux

Matcha Red Bean Jelly Gateaux

Finally I am back. It's soooo good to be home to be with my princess and do the things I love. This is my first self-creation after being away from my oven for a week.

Maybe I have been watching a bit too much of Top Chef during my trip that I've decided to be more adventurous this round to create my own Gateaux.....I named it Matcha Red Bean Jelly Gateaux.....which consist of a bottom layer of Matcha (Green Tea) Sponge, a thin layer of Matcha Whipped Cream and a layer of Red Bean Jelly, and again another layer of Matcha (Green Tea) Sponge, a thin layer of Matcha Whipped Cream and a layer of Red Bean Jelly and finally top with some Matcha Whipped Cream piped from a Star Nozzle.

How do I come to this combination? Well normally the Matcha Ice Cream is served with some Red Bean Topping which I think Green Tea and Red Bean taste great when paired together. Then the Red Bean Jelly.....in a way jelly is crunchy which is the opposite of an Matcha Sponge Cake which is so soft. Also the Red Bean Jelly will neutralized the sweetness of the Cake and the Matcha Whipped Cream. That's why this combination is just so right for people that love light but not buttery nor sweet kind of desserts. My mom is in this category of people that she ended up eating 3 pieces before I took pictures of my Matcha Red Bean Jelly Gateaux.

As for me I am going to enjoy my piece of Matcha Red Bean Jelly Gateaux now with another episode of Top Chef......wish everyone will have a great and wonderful weekend.......I know I will.....

I made a square cake and cut into individual portion. I use a Polka Dots Paper Baking Cups as the base for each portion and use a plastic wrapper to wrap around the cake
